The Wayne Gilbertson Memorial "Kids Carve" was held 11:30 am and 1 pm.
Children, with a parent or guardian present, joined a club member for either
a fish woodcarving project or turtle carved in soap project. Katie Anderson,
daughter of Wayne, was one of the volunteers working with the children.
Lori Gilbertson donates to the club to make this event possible to honor
her late husband who was a Kettle Karvers member.

2019 Artistry in Wood Woodcarving and Wood Sculpture Show
Kettle Karvers hosted their 29th annual woodcarving show and competition, Artistry in Wood, on
Saturday, April 13, 2019. It was a beautiful spring day and a large crowd joined members at our show
held at the Lakers Ice Center in Sheboygan. This year's show included local carvers as well as carvers
from across Wisconsin and Illinois. Concessions during the event were provided by the Lakers Ice Center.

At 1 pm, Bill Wright of Greenleaf, Wisconsin,
demonstrated carving of bird feathers. Any show
attendee is invited to attend a demonstration.
The 2019 featured carver was Virginia Temme of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Virginia started carving about five years ago with
Richard Young as her mentor and has been a member of Kettle Karvers since 2014. This year, Virginia took blue in the Advanced class
or her carving.
Best of Show and Best in Class for the
Advanced classification was awarded to Ron
O'Kray of Stevens Point, WI. Ron also took a
blue ribbon for his slotted spoon entered in
The Best of Show plate was carved by Bob
Larry Lienau was awarded the Peoples'
Choice Award for his table at the show.
