A youth carving session was held from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.
Children ages 12 and up, with a parent or guardian present, joined a
club member for a hands-on carving project. Lori Gilbertson donates to
the club to make this event possible to honor her late husband.

|2015 Artistry in Wood Woodcarving
and Wood Sculpture Show
Kettle Karvers hosted their 25th annual woodcarving
show and competition, Artistry in Wood, on
Saturday, April 18, 2015. It was a beautiful spring
day and a large crowd of people joined members at
our first show held at the Lakers Ice Center in
Sheboygan. This year's show included over 50
carvers as well as wood and tool vendors.
Concessions during the event were provided by the
Lakers Ice Center.

The 2015 featured carver was Bob Yancey of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, a self-taught 30-year carver who is retired from an advertising
and graphic artist career. Bob has been a member of the Kettle Karvers since 2013 and is an active participant and teacher at the club’s
member carves. He has spent countless hours carving items to donate to local charities. Bob’s articles have been published in
At 11 am, Richard Young of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, demonstrated double chip
carving and at 1 pm, Bob Lawrence of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, demonstrated
how to carve a wood spirit on a walking stick.
Best of Class and Best of Show was
awarded to Gene Mathes of Sheboygan,
Wisconsin, for his entry in the Barkcarving
category in the Intermediate Division. Gene
also took blue ribbons for his gnome and
clock. The Artistry in Wood Best of Show
plate was carved and donated to the show by
